The Supreme Court just gutted the Voting Rights Act. They won't say that out loud, but Justice Kagan did: Section 2 is now all but a dead letter. A majority-Black congressional district in Louisiana, created so that Black voters could actually be represented in Congress, has been erased. John Roberts has been working toward this since 1982.
